Outsourcing for resellers – Resellers are companies like services, or graphic design stores, or simply bigger software companies that are hiring businesses occasionally overseas, to outsource work to and then reselling it to their own clients.
So what sort of wholesalers do we find? This may be anything from an independent freelancer who’s just got overflow work, or work they can’t handle. These are consultants, any sort of boutique net agencies; we see tons of that Like a shop that just does Word press, so when they have something that’s not Word media, they send it out and resell it Or a bigger agency with a standing overseas development center.
Anybody that has overflowed anybody who is reselling to clients, usually with putting a profit margin on top of it that’s what we call a reseller. A very, very common type of freelancer is your very, very small shop. This can be an independent, a husband and wife or just a few people, where they’re not big enough to support an offshore development center. They can’t keep three developers or even one moving full time.
They understand what it is like to attempt to win customers and lose them. They will see it as a partnership. They’re alright having folks on the bench. They’re eager to take smaller jobs, fixed bid and change orders, and also matters like this. You can do pretty well with Elance, that is where most of those small vendors go, but you have to learn the ropes of Elance first.
Another frequent kind we see is little stores but stores which are a little further down the line. They’re a bit more successful; they are bringing in more revenue, and they have enough business to attract a great deal more professional teams. They do not need to decide on an extremely small, hungrier team.
For these clients, we will need to set them on a team that is not too small since they’re going to deliver continuous work, and they have got to do a great job on it However they can’t be too big either because they are still tiny clients, so if we send them to some gigantic, you know, 700 person programmer, they might get lost in there .
You understand you do not ever want to be a company’s smallest customer or their largest, so for these businesses, it’s all about the right size. They’ve serviced plenty of bid clients, and they know how that works, but they’re also large enough so that when somebody stops or switches departments or something like that, they know how to manage it. They’re a mature company.
And they’re doing good. They have got more business then they can manage which is exactly why they are seeking to outsource. For these men, we look at them, and we think,”Are they in a position to control an offshore development centre?”
An offshore development center is when you employ on full-time workers, they are like your workers, but they are really sitting in a seat overseas, yet another provider is home them, but they are just working for you. But it’s up to you to handle them. So if you’re an agency which has lots of work, sending enough work is not your problem.
